Five Guys Burgers and Fries 905-608-8484 open 7 days a week 11am-10pm
It looks like a 50s diner, neon lights, flashy architecture, just missing the jukebox. Their burgers taste great but no where near as grand as they’re labelled. I would compare them to a “Whopper” from Burger King. The buns, flattened from being wrapped much too tightly, are loaded with sesame seeds. The toppings are fresh and tasty. The patty is seasoned well with juices still running. Overall they do serve great burgers, but not by any means the best in the city. The fries on the other hand are fantastic, delicious, crispy, fresh cut and with just a touch of salt or Cajun spice. I would go, as far as to say, the fries steal the show. Where else can you get them cooked in peanut oil? The oil really makes the difference. They have hot dog and meat free sandwich options which do not hold a candle to their burgers. This burger joint is old school, simple, and easy. And if I lived close by I would drop in – for the fries of course.
