Wooden communal tables bring warmth to this spacious dining area.  There is also a large table in the back by the kitchen where you can explore the menu with the chef.  We sat down in the main room and ordered a hamburger topped with 8 year old cheddar, crispy bacon, P&L sauce(ketchup, mayo, pickles, Sriracha), and iceberg lettuce on a bun.  I also ordered the roasted bone marrow bones with a parsley- radish-shallot salad, bread and a side of Brussels spouts roasted with filberts, mint and shallots.

The hamburger appeared without the bacon. I had to wait for 5 minutes before my server came to check on us and another 10 minutes before the bacon actually arrived at the table – by that time we had already finished the disappointing burger.  The bone marrow, on the other hand, is flavourful and balanced by the astringent parsley salad.  I must say that I did enjoy the roasted Brussels sprouts.  Crunchy sprouts and filberts add and wondrous sensation putting a spin on a holiday dish.

In turn the service is what really turned my stomach.  When my bill came I noticed that there was an auto gratuity put on the total even though there were only two of us dining!  I called the manager over immediately and he explained this to be their standard rule.  This ridiculous remark sent me over the edge, past the point of no return.  I did not leave the suggested auto-gratuity, just my own form of gratuity.
