Briscola Trattoria

It’s a classic scene from a Collage street eatery, the stylish crowd, the cutting edge dishes and the high energy staff.  My main concern was my server who had little to no knowledge of the food or wine list.  The menu is full of interesting Italian dishes that fall short of earlier expectations.

Fried olives with orange and parsley are a no brainer, salty and fruity.  Zuppa Di Pesce fra Diavola with cooked clams, mussels, shrimps, calamari, scallops and braised fennel in a spicy tomato broth is quite nice, even fragrant.   The Margherita pizza dressed with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil is simple but lacking the depth that is needed for such a sauce.

Briscola has really great food unfortunately its overshadowed by the horrendous customer service.
