El Trompo

Nestled in Kensington Market is this adorable Mexican restaurant.  I had a craving for margaritas and tacos for lunch and this casual, family-run eatery was recommended.  Walking into a lively atmosphere, I became excited about food.  The simple menu holds tasty reasonably priced items.  House made guacamole and Pico de Gallo serve as perfect afternoon snacks to share with a friend.   Five tacos – Chuleta con Queso – filled with lightly smoked, slightly sweet, grilled pork chops topped with onion and cheese is simple yet satisfying.  The real treasures, however, are the potent Margaritas.  Lime, strawberry, mango, or guava reminds one of summertime.  I really enjoyed this little “getaway from the everyday”.   Wrapping up my delightful lunch I find myself giggling loudly out with door.

ABOUT ME

I have lived in Toronto my whole life. I'm first generation German/Polish. My obsession with food began when I was young, watching my parents cook dinner, helping with barbeques. I try a new restaurant every week and I love to travel. There isn't anything I wouldn't try or do. I love sharing all my food adventures!
