Old Bleu Cafe

Old Bleu Café         416.861.0819     oldbleucafe.com      open  Mon to Fri   7am-4pm

Walking inside this cute little café,  I’m a little unsure about how to feel.  The layout is simple, just a hot counter, two beverage coolers, an espresso machine and window seating for three – so what is everyone going on about?  And then you meet the owners, and then you taste the food, and then you understand.  My advice, get there early or run the risk of missing out on their marvelous daily specials.  The hot cuisine is mostly Chinese and French.  They also sell readymade sandwiches, pour free trade coffee and sell a small variety of baked goods.  Old Bleu Café is not licensed, but that doesn’t matter when the food is so inexpensive and tasty.

I really enjoyed the fried chicken, spinach pasta and side coleslaw.  My beverage choice,  a refreshing Hanks Gourmet Vanilla Crème Soda.  Not only is the food delicious, but so is the service.  The owners are gems, bending over backwards to make sure you have a good experience –  I felt like I was family.  And that makes me love the café even more, exceptional service from owners that have a passion to make good food at great prices.

ABOUT ME

I have lived in Toronto my whole life. I'm first generation German/Polish. My obsession with food began when I was young, watching my parents cook dinner, helping with barbeques. I try a new restaurant every week and I love to travel. There isn't anything I wouldn't try or do. I love sharing all my food adventures!
