A takeout story…

This eatery is always teeming with BBQ loving locals, and its run like a tight ship.  Ribs are only served on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at exactly 5 p.m.  Inside the rustic décor is a perfect backdrop to the high energy casual atmosphere. The seating is minimal with high chairs lined along the open kitchen bar, wall and window. Lineups are out the doors on weekends.  

The Stockyards buttermilk chicken is nicely marinated, battered and fried to crispy golden perfection– one of the few times I can actually taste the seasoning infused in the meat – terrific. The double burger was packaged in an unbreathable takeout container leading to a soggy bun, however, the patty itself (still warm) was perfectly seasoned, juicy and really, really good.  Fresh cut fries are sliced thin,  accompanying my combos.  I also ordered a side of sautéed Brussels sprouts, crunchy and lightly dressed in a garlicky sweet spice.  

I still would like to come back and try the ribs for a full Stockyards experience, being there on an off day the menu seemed a little limited. Service is swift.  Unlicensed.
