Catch is best described as a casual yet romantic spot with a charming patio overlooking the busy St. Clair West strip.  The wine list is well curated and the downstairs cellar has an interesting contemporary look to it.  This is one of my favorite destinations for seafood and patio.

If one loves gin start off with a pear cocktail: Bombay, Calvados, pear and basil mix together for an interesting yet refreshing summertime drink.  And if one loves sangria this beverage is a great option.

Made in house olive bread is supple inside with a crispy crust – very light.  One of the city’s best you will see!  Bottled clams are clean tasting.  The clam is jarred pure in all its creamy glory, buttery divine – a dish very well done.

Glacier Bay Oysters from New Brunswick go very well with Cava Juve y Camps Penedes from Spain.  The palate is crisp and lively with honeysuckle and a refreshing finish.

Grilled lobster salad with cress, fennel, and bisque looks beautiful, however, is missing a key ingredient to bring the dish together; some salt maybe?  Overall disappointing.

Smoked sturgeon paired with fresh pear and foie gras sauce is intoxicating.  With one bite I’m transported back in time to my childhood, the flavours are very powerful, and the texture fantastically delicate.

Liquid dessert is Equipo Navazos Pedro Ximenez “casa del Inca” 2009.  Molasses, caramel, fig newton: this sexy sherry envelops the nose with all things dark, rich and sweet.  Ah, the evening ending in bliss.
