August 10th, 2012
The thought of meeting Robert Irvine is a little intimidating. On his show “Restaurant Impossible” Irvine is demanding and high energy, with a drill sergeant-like quality. We met in the lobby of a hotel to discuss his upcoming live show “Robert Irvine Live 2012,” his first theatrical tour.
What is Robert Irvine really like? Well, he’s down to earth, has a the biggest heart and reaches out to people in need around the globe. Having started out his life with a career in the Navy, Robert has always felt the need to help. He travels the world, inspiring people to make changes while running a successful business. When asked “why this show now, with three already on the go and a heavy work schedule?” Robert responds “to be closer to my fans. I wanted a hands-on interactive energy, multimedia and multi-sensory theatrical experience, more than just a cooking class.” He explains “nothing like this has ever been done before”. His co-host is a computer named Chad who is able to talk and react in seconds, giving the audience a completely new experience every show. At the end of the evening Irvine is very willing to takes pictures with each member of his audience, wanting to make sure everyone leaves feeling satisfied and as though they have learned something new.
After a quick snapshot we part ways, but not for too long. After learning about the show I was honestly intrigued and HAVE to attend; August 25th 7:00pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. I hope to see you there!
