I was invited to join a group of lovely young women for dinner at The Harbord Room in celebration of Lung Cancer awareness month. The menu, specially created by student chef Ilan Adler, to show the harmful effects of smoking on the palate. Each course had two components; one dish prepared in the normal fashion, the other dish mimicked a smokers blunted palate. I was alarmed at how bland and under seasoned the smokers dish tasted and find myself very lucky to have never smoked a cigarette in my life.
