Despite its small and brightly lit interior, most faces here are buried deep in steaming bowls of Japanese ramen. This has become the latest and hottest spot for Japanese ramen lovers. No liquor license yet but it’s a coming. The menu is simply laid out with only a few choices, which is good for crazy people like me who can never decide on just one dish. Being a little less complicated is a good thing.
Golden fried chicken Karaage $4.5 is always a must whenever I see it on the menu (addiction perhaps?), however, this one is not so crispy. With four different soup broths to choose from – white, red, black and light – I found it best to start with the original straight forward ramen in a white chicken broth loaded with fatty pork chashu $10.5. The first sip reveals an incredibly creamy broth, seasoned with soy sauce for that umami high and an extra soft boiled egg for the ultimate extravagance in flavour. And then the noodles (thick or thin) silky, yet firm enough for slurping. I’m definitely planning to come back to try the red spicy soup base and then again to try the garlic. Yes, I like this spot.
