Owners of this financial district speakeasy decided it was time for a complete change and thus AAA was created. This bar turned BBQ eatery has added a small mostly smoked meat menu; sparing no expense, a torn piece of memo pad paper displays what’s available from the kitchen. The change in décor hasn’t swayed the area locals from inhabiting the small, almost dark spot on the corner of Adelaide and Jarvis. No matter what day of the week one strolls in through the door the place is always entertaining. Servers are on the ball, most nights.
Dry smoked ribs are a mix of moist and extremely dry. Thinly sliced smoked beef brisket is marbled with fat and a delightful surprise – I’m normally not a fan. Onion rings are blah, much to0 heavy on the batter. And my favorite of the evening is definitely the nachos topped with beef. Its kind of cliché because they are so “ballgame” or “I’m at a country fair” but they fu*king hit the I-just-want-something-salty-and-crunchy to hit the spot after an incredibly long day. Life is hard enough; sometimes one just wants mindless sensory porn to excite the dully senses.
