I heard about this little workshop from a fellow blogger at another event and I had to come. Luckee is one of those magical places in our city that has no boundaries on flavour, fun and imagination. So I feel very privileged to be one of the 10 or so bloggers here to have a personal lesson in the intricacies of making Dim Sum. Chef Susur Lee is hilarious, poking fun at himself and making everyone feel so comfortable around such a talent. We being by sampling a few dishes from the kitchen: assorted spring rolls, savory carrot infused dumplings and cold noodle salad.
And then we start making the dim sum. Susur explains the subtle techniques involved with the process: cupping the dough, pressing the fork upside-down into the lip smacking umami seasoned protein, fingering the flour-soft delicate dough until its wrapped like a flower, finished with fresh scallop, black truffle and fresh lime leaf.
Finishing our event with a lovely fruit soaked sangria presentation by Kai Bent-Lee and velvety mousse filled chocolate rolls drizzled with chocolate and berries to accompany and refresh after a hard day of blogger work.
