Another fabulous invitation to a Cantina-inspired Italian Kitchen and Wine bar. And why did I have such a great time? Because this spot exudes that Italian swagger, that comfortable warm family feeling one gets when dining with friends. I know, I know what you’re thinking – I’m just saying these nice things cause it’s another blogger event and yadda, yadda, yadda – but no, experience it for yourself if you don’t believe.
Cured meats brought in mostly from Italy include Lonza, Bresadla, Oacciatora, Soppresata, Finocchiona, Mortadella and Capocollo. On another table firm cheeses were presented alongside an abundance of crostini: steak tartar, foie gras with sliced blackberries, cured salmon, roasted mushrooms.
In the kitchen chef Luca Stracquadanio directs his lively team with flawless avail. A wood/gas pizza oven delights us with a Maragrita Pizza which arrives topped with Dolce Lucavo, D.O.P tomatoes using Canadian flour.
Oh and I couldn’t forget to mention the juicy roasted suckling pig, bursting with herb infused flavour and that crackling skin…oh….yes….it was so good.
I see great promise. Hopefully there is a patio in the summertime.
