Barilla, the world’s leading pasta brand, is pleased to announce that it has partnered with internationally acclaimed celebrity chef, television personality, and best-selling author David Rocco to share cooking tips, exclusive recipes, and the Italian lifestyle he’s known for with kitchens across Canada in 2015.
In 1877, Pietro Barilla Sr. opened a small bakery in Parma, Italy. Today, Barilla is still a family-owned company which believes that the table is more than a place to eat—it’s a setting for food and experiences to be shared.
When I received an email from Barilla, asking me to try out one of their healthy recipes using this “oft-misunderstood” molecule, I was stoked. And after looking inside my parcel of joy, I found that pasta can actually be the perfect foundation for a healthy meal. Here is what I found was inside:
- Living with Gusto – a source of inspiration designed for media and influencers & assorted pastas at www.barillagroup.com
- David Rocco’s 2012 Dolce Vita Chianti www.davidrocco.com
- Olive & Olives EVOO www.oliveolives.com
- The Mediterranean Diet Cookbook
- ibitz wireless family fitness monitor www.ibitz.com
- and a cute little apron
After flipping thorough the magazine and cookbook I couldn’t help but make the Barilla Nutrient-Rich Plus Penne with kale, red onion, and mushrooms. This pasta contains more fibre, protein and omega-3 than other pasta brands. Super easy to make, simple ingredients and fun to cook. I got that “ah, I feel so healthy” feeling – like I did something good for my body.
