I was invited to a preview of the Taste of Market Street: a collection of unique and diverse restaurants serving a prix fixe lunch menu on April 10th. The idea is to provide guests with a taste of what makes Market Street uniquely delicious. The stops include a Barcelona-inspired bistro, an innovative Italian eatery, a French roast coffee house, a slow pressed juice bar, fresh from the market locally-sourced seafood and a beautiful modern Indian restaurant.
This was one of the stops on our “Marketlicious” tour.
I’ve always loved this spot. The colours and aromas from the kitchen take me away somewhere warm and beautiful the minute I walk through the door. And they literally have the most flavourful and inventive sangria’s in Toronto – perfect for sipping lazily on their patio. Sourcing locally as much as possible the menu is as bright as the decor. Today we sampled grilled octopus (channa masala, tamarind, papadum), the daily pintxo (white anchovy, greens) and (which is now my favourite thing on the menu) manchebo churros, fresh, fluffy, served with house made tangy-sweet ketchup, dusted with parmegano reggiano – my mouth is watering just thinking about.
