T-fal is dedicated to delivering innovative cooking solutions that enable nutrition-conscious food lovers to meet their health objectives, without sacrificing culinary pleasure. The T-fal’s Actifry sets the standard within one of the top global trends shaping the food industry – creating foods that are both healthy and delicious.
During the summer a group of media and bloggers were invited the unveiling of the Actifry express. After 22 patents, T-fal is launching its 2nd generation Actifry; the 1 KG express and 1.5 KG express XL are the largest capacity fryers on the market.
How does it work? A new aerodynamic chamber improves air flow and keeps the internal temperature consistent. This combined with a larger turbine that propels 40% hotter air than in previous models, ensures faster results. The stirring paddle mixes food and spreads the oil uniformly, ensuring that your meals are perfectly cooked and seasoned.
How does it look? Ingenuity. A sleek large window, low oil quantity and almost odorless frying elements reduce the risk of spilling hot oil. The bowl and stirring paddle are removable plus dishwasher safe making clean up easy.
“When designing the Actifry Express, we looked for ways to make it even easier to prepare healthy meals,” explains Noel Gallegos, Senior product manager for T-fal innovations in Canada. “Time-constrained families often opt for takeout or the drive-thru, which is a contributing factor to Canada’s troubling obesity rate. The convenience and innovation of the Actifry Express allows families to prepare to the meals they love at home in a healthier way, without sacrificing flavour.”
I can’t believe how many different dishes you can make using little to no oil. I made Chef Matt Basile’s Pad Thai fries from his cookbook, Street Food Diaries, using no oil! On another occasion I made fresh fries with just a tablespoon of oil. And if you can believe it I even made chicken wings, they were the crispest ever! The excess fat and grease pooled in the bottom of the bowl.
There is more to the Actifry than just the fries. Oh yes, I even made a beer-battered fried Caprese salad and it was delicious! Each express model includes a practical recipe book with gourmet recipes designed for meat, fish, vegetables and desserts. Cooking with the Actifry is limited only by your imagination. Since its launch, over 450 recipes have been created by T-fal’s food specialists, with new ones constantly underway. Here are just some of Matt’s creations he made using the Actifry (also available in his cookbook):
Lettuce wrap with shrimp and mango; pork sugo in tomato sauce; caramelized onions and mushrooms; salsa verde beef meatballs; caramelized bacon and Nutella; curried cauliflower.
The my Actifry Smartphone app free to download in the apple app store and Google play, provides hundreds of recipes that have been tested and approved by a team of nutritionists as well as a cooking time guide for each staple ingredient, videos of cooking’s techniques and more to help you cook tasty and healthy food every day.
The Actifry express models are made in France, the Actifry express (1 KG capacity) retails for $329.99 with the Actifry express XL (1.5 KG capacity) retailing for $369.99 and will be available at Hudson’s Bay, Canadian Tire, and Home Depot
