Nota Bene has introduced a ceviche bar and it is awesome. And I’ m not one who favours generously. Three different combinations, each reasonably priced and very exotically unique. There is also a “if-you-can’t-decide” option where you get to sample a bit of everything.
Ceviche Classico stays true to the clean tastes of the classic dish, Hamachi, zesty lime, spicy chilies, coconut and coriander. The ceviche Yucateco combines Cuban shrimp and calamari ceviche with Thai basil and the sweetness of fresh Ontario peaches.
And my FAVOURITE of the trio was the ceviche Ostras Al Aguachile (freshly shucked oysters) intensely balanced with Serrano chilies and tomatillo. Oh, did I mention that this downtown spot has an out-of-this-world gin selection! I suggest pairing the food the herb infused liquor because it works so well!! Let’s focus on the most memorable, the Botanist Gin. The floral notes invite pair so unconventionally it’s one of those memories one will never forget.
