I am so angry. I ordered take-out from Rocco’s on the Queensway, but when I got home what I received was nothing short of a disaster. I asked for angel hair pasta with mixed seafood in a garlicky olive oil and what I received was a broken linguine that smells like an old barn! And when I called back they couldn’t rectify anything because they don’t deliver – well that’s not going to help me now! This spot is a total let down.
Sure, the odd interior is enticing and makes you stop and think: what is with this place? The food, which is supposed to be the star, is a complete letdown. I don’t care if this is a local restaurant; Rocco’s on the Queensway is inconsistent! The same dish varies in price from week to week depending on who is in the kitchen.
Want to know why I am so angry? Because I can’t handle the ridiculousness of this place anymore! This post is for all of those people who get home and discover they didn’t get what they ordered and it’s too LATE! Stay away from this place! Our neighborhood is growing and there are so many other places to enjoy that do not stress you out.
Between dodging the raccoon’s on the “throw back to old Italy patio”, and the foul odor of the garbage dumpsters, just out of sight behind the back alley fence a mere 10 feet from your romantic table for two seating area, it’s a complete nightmare. Or you could move inside to swat flies away from your meal while trying to not get eaten alive by mosquitoes in the dining room because the back door never closes! The ever changing staff doesn’t know the difference between a cappuccino, an espresso or anything on the menu; you would be better off at Sobeys in the pre-made food aisle. Oh and please be careful of the bright lights that hinder ones descent down the dangerously lit stairwell to the filthy sewage smelling bathrooms complete with a bathtub. Oh, and I forgot to mention to watch out for falling grapes on the patio that are actually being knocked down by the infestation of the dozen raccoon’s you share the patio with DAY AND NIGHT!
