Buonanotte is always a blast. When it opened it was more of a restaurant, but now I see it as more of a supperclub – not that there’s anything wrong with that…
A few weeks ago I was invited to Buonanotte for their 3 year anniversary. It was a blast. Lot’s of food which included one of my favourites, roasted pork!
A week later I was back for Aperitivo Thursday; this week it’s a 3 course Tuscan inspired menu by David Rocco. As I enter a glass of David Rocco’s sparkling Prosecco welcomes me – a great match with antipasti like Caponata braised eggplant with tomato, olive oil and red wine vinegar.
I love the thick and creamy texture of bean soup. Rocco’s Zuppa di fagioli con pancetta exudes smoky flavour, in that rustic stick to your ribs kind of way. Pinot Grigio is paired next with clams in white wine sauce.
Dolce Vita Chianti enhances Schiacciata (Tuscan flatbread) pizza with coppa cabbage and shaved pecorino.
Zabaglione con Pana Montata tastes like winning the jackpot, made of sweet whipped cream, strawberries and something I’ve never heard of before: ice wine made from vermouth “Tenuta Col Sandago Passito”. When was the last time you tasted something new? Thank you David Rocco and Buonanotte!!
