The room has a diner feel, almost like an Art Deco cafeteria. A great spot for a first date or a fun meal with the family. The pizzas are rustic, contrasting the decor. This spot is lisenced, serving a small, heartfully selected wine and beer list.
Ready in a few minutes, True True pizzas are relatively healthy: dough, tomato sauce, vegetables, protein. The concept – build your own pizza, true to yourself – or chose from the eight True True ready designed pizzas. True to ingredients, true to customer.
The classic tomato sauce is very tasty, a recipe Nonna would be proud of. The dough is so delicate and thin it doesn’t overpower the toppings. All pizzas are $12.86, no matter how many toppings you wish to add. That is amazing! Three to four items are recommended. There are a couple of exclusions. If you order THE PRO, use gluten-free dough or wish to top your pie with Daiya Mozzerella or Prosciutto please add an additional $2.50. Not bad.
Salads are super filling. Carte Blanche is divine! A big bowl of arugula, red baby potatoes, green beans, boiled eggs, Kalamata olives, grape tomatoes and artichoke hearts roughly chopped tossed in a savory celery dill and caper dressing.
Okay so the pizzas. The Hen and Peck (spicy tomato base, fresh mozzarella, spinach, chorizo sausage. farm eggs, fresh parmesan, chili oil, cracked black pepper) is balanced with spice that does not linger, even when the chewy crust is dipped in chili oil. LOVE that you can watch your pizza being made.
My mom made her own pizza. She chose traditional crust, classic tomato sauce, Kalamata olives, house cheese mix, cherry tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, roasted red pepper, smoky bacon, confit garlic, finished with fresh arugula. First bite is smoky bacon then earthy sweet mushrooms, sharp cheese and arugula leaves a peppery finish.
I’d love to see olive oil or dips for the crust on the menu – a work in progress I’m told.
The pizza and experience was so exciting that when we brought the leftovers home my dad, who never EVER wants to sample anything asked to try a slice. Well, he absolutely LOVED it!! So much so that I came back picked up another PIZZA just for him! If that doesn’t sell this place I don’t know what will… Becker Dad approved!
