As a kid I loved Root Beer, so when I received an invite to Mill Street Brewery to participate in a sampling of their new alcoholic Root Beer I quickly confirmed. The team at Mill Street Brewery have grown in popularity throughout Toronto and across Ontario. Each new beer compliments the already impressive list of high quality delicious offerings. Once at a Jays game my first sample was the new 100 Meridian, which instantly became the beer of chose for the day – impressive. Mill Street Brewery continues to introduce great tasting products, so I went to this tasting expecting something amazing and that`s exactly what I found.
The brew masters were on hand provided very descriptive clear details of how the Mill Street Root Beer finds the way to the bottle, but I was more interested in the tasting. The first cold sip of the Root Beer was thoroughly refreshing. The more I enjoyed the more I knew I`d found something real great that should be shared with others. Thinking about the root beer floats I enjoyed years ago the thoughts returned and imagination of how an alcoholic root beer floats would taste. The tasting notes offered vanilla, and little hints of… I like to say cherry, but most of all a sweetness I usually associate with molasses. A very nice departure from beer although it leaves you feeling refreshed and certainly wanting more.
