I was invited to dine alongside fellow bloggers and media to experience a healthy Vietnamese-cuisine restaurant using local, gluten-free ingredients and vegan options. This new, unique spot features a unique dry pho signature dish, alongside a variety of traditional pho (including a vegan pho). Everyday Pho Vistro serves all-natural broths (vegan, chicken, and beef) using the traditional 36-hour cooking method #healthypholife.
“Pho is one of the healthiest soups in the world,” says Quang Nguyen, Pho Vistro co-owner. “We take pride in our pho craftsmanship, and can’t wait to share our pho with Toronto.”
Dr. Hoanh Nguyen and Quang Nguyen started this adventure as a passion project, who wanted traditional dishes crafted in the traditional slow cooked beef bone method. Pho is NOT fast food! This authentic slow cooked soup is prepared using no MSG, and includes vitamin-rich herbs and spices (fennel seed, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, star anise, cloves, cilantro).
“The health advantages of pho have been well-documented by experts in medicine and nutrition for centuries. Vietnamese have benefited from the healing remedies that come from the broth to the multitude of rich vitamins found in a single serving of pho. We want to bring that authentic, healthiness to every bowl at Pho Vistro,” says Dr. Hoanh Nguyen, co-owner.
Today the appetizers we sampled included Vietnamese Spring Rolls , (vegan or chicken) sided with fish sauce, and fresh Imperial Rolls with a kale parsley dip (vegan or chicken),
a creamy, super filling sweet potato Photine topped with rutabaga; and crunchy fried Canadian maple syrup coated chicken wings with a side of housemade honey sauce.
Our mains were outstanding: classic Pho (chicken, beef, vegan) and Vietnamese ribs and rice.
I’m not fond of desserts but I did sample an avocado smoothie – which I enjoyed throughout the evening. The decor is modern contemporary, open to the kitchen. If you LOVE pho like I do this place is a MUST! And it’s located in the heart of Toronto – what more can you ask for?
