It’s almost summer again in Toronto! Time to scope out the best patios to laze away the weekends. One of the newest, most beautiful spots in the city is Lavelle. Located on King street in the trendy supper club district is Chez Lavelle. Do you love cocktails? Do you enjoy a good view? Do you like to swim and relax? Or enjoy to be pampered and taste cuisine? Well then you must visit Toronto’s rooftop version of Miami. Come to swim in the afternoon, watch the sunset and stay for the live Dj playing the latest industry beats.
The venue beautiful and so is the food! Colourful and creative, the menu changes with the seasons. Ingredients are sourced as locally as possible – love Ontario farmers!
A bottle of sparkling Cremant d’Alsace from Zinck is a good choice to start: creamy and complex and half the price of expensive wines from the Champagne region. Actually sparkling wine good with everything! Can’t wait for summer 🙂
On one early after we sampled east coast oysters with a delightful frozen housemade minotte. I normally love my oysters onatural BUT this I HAD to try – so different… so savory. Steak tartare with delicately shopped hazelnuts for texture, minced cool cucumber, spicy ketchup, horseradish, bound together by a creamy quail egg.
Special of the day a fried fish, pan seared; lightly seasoned to bring out the earthy notes and lemon brightens it’s flavour. Ocean trout garnished with fried skin, brussel sprouts, purple and green cauliflower, purple and green. Everything so fresh, great menu!
I love this spot because the venue and menu complement each other. One does not outdo the other. Let’s start dancing!!
