Open 24/7 Saturday and Sunday. Love the space. Brunch is crazy on weekends but dinner menu offers delightful choices. My mom and I are here to sample as much as we can 🙂 . All there meats are smoked daily with cherry wood inside their two ton smoker imported from St. Louis; spices and rubs are imported from Kentucky.
The decor is clean: old fashion meets modern diner, exposed brick and a giant chalkboard of daily art – a modern version of happy days. The space is great for a group of friends, or singles that want to come out and absorb the lively crowd.
We had a nice sangria to start, boozy and packed with fruit. I drank that in a second! And moved on to my love, the Caesar. This cocktail uses infused bacon marinated Stoli vodka, garnished with Crack bacon!
The lean mean ribs are packed with a hearty stick-to-your-ribs kinda smoke – a hit! The only misstep this evening was the under-seasoned smoked trout (which actually tasted charred), sided with cold cauliflower puree, seasonal vegetables (raw cherry tomatoes, brined green olives and haricot verts). Each element must be eaten together for the dish to work, “sort of”.
Sides all look so good, we’d love to order them all! But you can’t always eat with you eyes… Can you? Ha, haa… Butchers Crack sugar cured bacon, tastes like it’s been candied in smokey bacon – superb! Juicy smoked farmers sausage is loaded with dill and spices, and the tied ends are crunchy – yummy!
The potato salad is done in a German style: lightly (and I mean super lightly) drizzled with olive oil and vinegar. Quartered potatoes, seasoned lightly, herbed with parsley and dill, celery and red onion – a perfect side to the sausage. Smoked salt and pepper fries are freshly cut, fried to a dark golden perfection and seasoned flawlessly. Super crisp skin, inside it’s fluffy and moist. We both agreed we could just come here and eat orders and orders of it. Aided with ketchup and Chipotle dips.
Kansas city creamy coleslaw, lightly creamy, peppery, not overpowered with mayo, touch of sweetness. One of the best I’ve had in a long time. Oh and they have this WICKED smoker out back, a must see! Ask for a tour 🙂
I love that we didn’t have to ask for salt or pepper for most of the dishes. The kitchen is on the ball. Servers are on point, knowledgeable and super efficient. Looking for a new place to brunch or have dinner, come here, I’m sure you will be as addicted as I am.
