I had the best time at Second Harvest and it was all done for a great cause. The event raised $925, 000 for Second Harvest to help keep those trucks on the road every day, rescuing food and feeding those in need. I met with numerous celebrity chefs, restaurants from across the city who donated their time for this event to take place. Hosts of the Toronto Taste Chef Challenge included Bob Blumer, Food Networks Surreal Gourmet, John Catucci, Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here and Michelle Jobin, TV Host & Producer.
There was also a silent action, donated from business and people from around the city and merchants who were wonderfully kind to let us sample wines from around the globe like MCO wine and spirits.
This event wouldn’t have happened without the help of 400 volunteers, who helped setup, take down, pass around food – all with a smile. Everything was so lovingly put together, no detail was forgotten and all in a great venue, the Corus building. Located right on the waterfront, this spot has everything including a living wall. First stop, oysters from Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill!
Some of the standout dishes of the evening…
Corus and the restaurants in surrounding area, including the fabulous sugar beach are a destination in city. Thank you Second Harvest for letting me be a part of one of the most memorable events in Toronto!
