The One of a Kind Show is the kind of place you can lose yourself in. There is SO much to see and many uniquely skilled artisans to meet. Open your mind to possibilities that you never thought existed. This show has been around since 1975, but I don’t think people realize how amazing it truly is. I used to think this show was all about knick knacks and sweaters – the kind your gammy used to give you. How wrong I was! In 2015, I attended the Christmas show and was blown away. Astonished. So many vendors with so many unique ideas. At first you feel overwhelmed, but then it subsides. Slowly taking it all in…
Walking around and meeting the artisans takes you to your happy place. A break from the worries of our stressful lives. It is truly a one of a kind experience. I could not explore the entire show in one day. However, there is no need to worry because your ticket is valid for the entire run of the show – amazing! Attending the media event really gets us prepared for what’s in store this year.
The beautiful entrance way opens the show with a small selection of artisanal wares.
By far one of my favorite cured meats. Cochons Tout Ronds is a standout on a charcuterie board.
The Lemon Square is a cute little dessert with big citrus flavour.
Light and Paper has created unique household wears.
I always visit Mika Sato at Studio MikaFleur to discover her new and whimsical creations.
When you need some love, Velvet Moustache cuddly pillows will make you smile.
I’m not sure who painted this Jellyfish painting BUT I MUST HAVE IT! Bloggermom (aka mom photographer) did not grab a card… Hope to see you there this Spring.
Who wouldn’t have a cute attack just looking at these cookies by Teeny Tiny Bakery – he he.
Delicate paper lights, softly lit for a romantic evening 😉 by Hazel Tree Press and Paper
Neat bulbs by Vancouver’s East Van Light – the base is made from chopsticks!
Wooden matryoshka dolls sometimes called babushkas are so fun to stack – they remind me of my childhood. Not sure who the artisan is but I’m sure you definitely wont’ miss them.
And you must stop by and try The Reaper at The Peppermaster. If you survive you will get a sticker like i did. Impress all your friends. 🙂
Hopefully I will see them again at the Spring show along with some new faces, running March 28th to April 1st at the Enercare Centre Exhibition Place or shop 24/7 online #OOAKOnline
