This an older review – I’m catching up okay! Notice the snow.
Great corner location in the Bloor West Village, just west of Jane Street on the north side. The interior is a mix of old castle cellar and a lack luster trying bistro bar.
It’s a little adventure walking through the space. Each room of the restaurant looks very different from the next. I’m actually lost for words because they also have this odd Barbarians looking wine cellar.
And now the food. It’s hit and miss. Parmigiana di Melanzan with San Marzano tomato sauce, eggplant , mozzarella fiore di latte cheese is rich and nothing special.
This dish was crisp and very tasty: Frittura Mista Classic southern Italian medley of mixed fried seafood with fresh smelts, calamari, black tiger shrimp, octopus, sea salt with extra virgin olive oil, black pepper and fresh lemon with a mixed green side salad
The Porcini e sopressata pizza – don’t like the re-hydrated mushrooms on a pizza. Not impressed. Best part of the resto is the patio and the interesting decor.
