Oyster Boy is still going strong since 2001. The staff is always pleasant and very knowledgeable. Always a wide variety of textures and flavours oysters from both East and West coast – without the condiments! Weekends are busy. Like a few tables a head of you busy. The bar is nice, though a little small. Still, the space is cozy and animated, always someone to chat with if you’re missin’ some oyster love.
With the perfect oyster must go the perfect accompaniment, wine. Sparking wine is my favorite pairing. However, today there is a special white wine on the menu and I have to try it: Chateau Mire L’Etang Blanc, 2015, La Clape from France
A grenache wine and roussanne blend characterized with a fresh and fruity attack. Notes of white flowers and peaches. Lively acidity and delicate salt makes it a perfect pairing for raw oysters.
Sturgeon swims in a light citrus dressing with crispy shallots for a pleasantly balanced ceviche – taro root chips finish the dish like a work of art. Oh yes, I love this spot. The only thing missing is a patio.
